Graphite electrodes from China: Repeal of ATLAS-Info 0320/22; TabStMoG: Announcement of new codes

An ATLAS message informs about the repeal of Info 0320/22 regarding anti-dumping duties on certain graphite electrodes from China as well as new codes related to the Tobacco Duty Modernisation Act.

1. Anti-dumping duties on certain graphite electrodes from China: repeal of ATLAS-Info 0320/22

The European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on graphite electrodes originating in China on 06.04.2022 (see AWB News of 20.04.2022). The original presentation of this anti-dumping measure in TARIC caused data processing problems in various Member States. Therefore, the presentation in TARIC will be adjusted: From now on, the TARIC additional code C864 has to be declared for the affected graphite electrodes. The ATLAS participant information 0320/22 of 19.04.2022 is cancelled.

2. Effects of the Tobacco Duty Modernisation Act: announcement of new codes in connection with flat-rate import duties

The TabStMoG of 17 August 2021 is also expected to lead to changes in the Customs Ordinance affecting the levying of flat-rate import duties with effect from 1 July 2022. In particular, the new tobacco duty items introduced with the TabStMoG will be taken into account. In this context, it is intended to introduce new values and codes for the 'Information on EU codes'.
