Licensing requirement for vaccines ends

The EU will not extend the transparency and licensing mechanism for the export of COVID-19 vaccines.

With the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2071 of November 25, 2021, the EU Commission determined that an authorization for the export of COVID-19 vaccines from the EU beyond December 31, 2021, would no longer be required.

As of January 1, 2022, exports of COVID-19 vaccines and active ingredients for their manufacture will no longer require a license from BAFA.

COVID-19 vaccines and the relevant active ingredients will be subject to export monitoring by customs for 24 months from January 1, 2022.

Detailed information can be found on the BAFA website.
