The EU sanctions against Russia include, among other things, the freezing of assets of persons listed in the corresponding embargo regulations. To ensure effective enforcement of these sanctions, the Bundestag passed the Sanctions Enforcement Act 1 (SDG 1).
Through amendments to the Foreign Trade and Payments Act, the Money Laundering Act, the Banking Act and the Securities Trading Act, this Act expands the possibilities to clarify ownership and to seize assets and contains a punishable obligation to report the assets of listed persons.
