Trade facilitation with Ukraine

The German Customs Administration informs about the temporary suspension of the licence quotas for the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.

As of 4 June, among other things, the licence quotas for the import of agricultural products originating in Ukraine were temporarily suspended until 5 June 2023. This concerns licence quotas as a result of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, which apply exclusively to goods originating in Ukraine, as well as so-called erga omnes quotas for all third countries including Ukraine. With the introduction of the special preferential regime for the import of goods of Annex I-A of the Association Agreement from Ukraine, as of 4 June 2022 there is no longer the possibility to claim the import duty concession within the framework of licence quotas, as these are no longer shown in TARIC and thus can no longer be declared in ATLAS.

Aware of this legal situation, the EU Commission has decided that import licences issued before 4 June 2022, which contain the right and obligation to import the products mentioned therein from Ukraine, will remain valid. More infos...
