BIS includes 37 companies in "Entity List"

On March 2, 2023, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published a „final rule“ placing 37 companies on the "Entity List" for strengthening Russia's military and defense industries, supporting China's military modernization, or encouraging or participating in human rights abuses in Myanmar and China.


Three companies in Russia, Belarus and Taiwan were included in the list because they make a significant contribution to Russia's military and/or defense industrial base;

Eighteen Chinese companies were added for acquiring and attempting to acquire U.S.-origin goods in support of China's military modernization efforts and for supplying or attempting to supply a sanctioned entity in Iran;

Six companies based in China and Myanmar were added for human rights violations; and

Fourteen companies based in China and Pakistan were added because they contributed to ballistic missile programs, including Pakistan's missile program, and were involved in unsecured nuclear activities.
