Since 21 July 2025, Slovenia and Bulgaria have also met the requirements for participation in the Centralised Clearance for Export (CCE) procedure.
CCE is a procedure under EU customs law that allows companies to submit the export declaration in one Member State (e.g. Germany) even though the goods are physically located in another Member State and are presented for export there (e.g. Slovenia or Bulgaria).
This means that the procedure remains centrally managed by the ‘authorising Member State’, while the goods are presented for export in the other EU country.
With the participation of Slovenia and Bulgaria, electronic message exchange between the customs offices involved has been possible since 21 July. This is intended to be a further step towards the harmonisation and digitisation of European export procedures.
