In an ATLAS info bulletin, the Federal Information Technology Centre provides information about updates to the codes for fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) and ozone-depleting substances (ODS).
Particular attention is drawn to the addition to the explanation of code L100 (point 2: import of ODS) and to the newly introduced codes in the area of F-gases (Y169, Y179, Y147, Y161, Y168) by the Commission. Among other things, this removes the previous ambiguity of code Y160.
The ATLAS notification lists all currently possible codes in the respective TARIC measure types. It should be noted that different conditions apply depending on the commodity code and therefore not all codes are affected equally depending on the commodity group.
The ITZBund expressly points out that all condition blocks of the aforementioned TARIC measures displayed for the declared commodity code must be checked by experts, regardless of any technical response from the ATLAS customs system. The applicable codes from each table (condition block) must be specified in the customs declaration at item level. According to the ATLAS notification, multiple entries of the same code are neither necessary nor permitted.
