Ukraine: Commission proposes legislation suspending all duties on imports

On 27/04/2022, the European Commission proposed suspending import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the European Union for one year. The proposal also provides for the suspension of all EU anti-dumping and safeguard measures on Ukrainian steel exports for one year.

This far-reaching step is intended to increase Ukraine's exports to the EU in order to alleviate the difficult situation Ukrainian producers and exporters are facing in the face of Russia's military invasion.

The proposal mainly concerns existing agricultural and anti-dumping duties.

The proposal must now be discussed and approved by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
