The German customs administration will make the ‘Internet Export Declaration Plus’ (IAA-Plus) service available via the customs portal from 17 March 2026. Access to IAA-Plus via the previously used access channels will no longer be possible from this date. In future, it will only be possible to use the service via the customs portal at www.zoll-portal.de. To use the service, you must set up an account on the customs portal in good time.
Companies need a business customer account, which is registered via ELSTER or an eIDAS certificate. It is essential to note that the ELSTER account or eIDAS certificate used must be issued to the same company as the associated EORI number.
Private individuals must create a so-called citizen account on the customs portal. Registration can be done via ELSTER, the online ID card, the BundID or an eIDAS certificate. Registration with just an email address and password is not sufficient to use the service.
Existing accounts with a stored EORI number can continue to be used without any further steps. The EORI number serves as a central identification feature for the use of IAA-Plus. Therefore, only one business customer account per EORI number can exist in the customs portal.
Users who have been using IAA-Plus since July 2024 and have not yet set up an account in the customs portal will receive an email on 2 February 2026 with a personalised registration link, which must be used to create an account in order to correctly transfer existing data.
