On 1 December 2023, the mandatory introduction period for the commissioning of the electronic systems AES and NCTS phase 5 ends. In order to make the best use of this period, certain deadlines will be extended.
The recertification of participant software for electronic data processing and electronic data interchange can still take place until 29 October 2023. The deadline for participants to convert to ATLAS Release AES 3.0 or ATLAS Release 9.1 - Procedural Area Shipping is now 30 November 2023. From 1 December 2023, the processing of messages in AES 2.4 and ATLAS 9.0 formats is no longer guaranteed.
Although most EU Member States will complete the switch to NCTS-P5 and AES by the end of the EU-wide transition period on 30 November 2023, some customs authorities have announced that they are not yet technically ready. Transitional arrangements are in place for these cases.
