The European Commission has published a consultation on the rules for the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). This concerns the transition period, which starts on 1 October this year and lasts until the end of 2025.
The published draft implementing regulation details the reporting obligations and information required from EU importers of CBAM goods. It also includes the provisional methodology for calculating the emissions released during the manufacturing process of CBAM goods. The consultation will run until 11 July 2023.
