BAFA information sheet on aid supplies to Ukraine

Against the backdrop of the Russian attack on Ukraine and numerous efforts to provide aid deliveries to support Ukraine with protective equipment requiring an export licence, BAFA is implementing an accelerated licensing procedure for corresponding transactions.

According to BAFA, the term "auxiliary deliveries" can be understood to mean different deliveries of goods. Therefore, it is not possible to make a general statement on the admissibility of auxiliary deliveries. Rather, the consideration of the individual goods to be exported is decisive. This also applies if the goods were delivered to Germany, for example as a result of a collection campaign, and are to be exported to Ukraine as part of an overall delivery.

A BAFA information sheet is intended to provide initial guidance and, in particular, to list goods that are not subject to export control restrictions for deliveries to Ukraine.

Are there any restrictions under export control law in connection with the delivery of aid to Ukraine? Which aid supplies to Ukraine are not subject to export control restrictions? These are among the questions answered by the BAFA fact sheet.
