Further measures to speed up export controls

The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control has announced further measures for "effective and efficient" export controls in a press release. The goal of "effective export control with streamlined and more precise procedures" is to be achieved through adapted and expanded general licences, among other things.

In the area of military equipment, BAFA plans to extend the group of countries covered by General Licence No. 33 to include Singapore. According to BAFA's announcement, further changes concern General Licences No. 19 (extension of the group of goods to include military land vehicles in certain case groups and extension of the group of countries), No. 23 (waiver of the requirement for a licence of origin for re-exports and re-transfers to certain countries), No. 25 (extension of case groups for particularly trustworthy recipients), No. 26 (extension of the beneficiary case groups).

In the area of dual-use goods, Brazil is to be added as an additional destination to General Licence No. 37. Furthermore, extensions of certain General Licences are planned, namely General Licence No. 13 (new case groups for particularly trustworthy recipients, exports of dental milling machines for dental purposes to certain countries), No. 14 (extension to include continuous mixers and extruders with the exception of explosion-proof machines), No. 17 (extension to include capacitors).

BAFA is also planning new AGGs for the supply of certain spare parts. BAFA will publish further details on the new measures shortly.
